We had a wonderful week at Villa Fronzola. My only regret is that we did not spend 2 weeks! On the drive in our guest said "It's even more beautiful than the pictures." We had a group of 13 and the house remained spacious, affording everyone privacy as well as inviting spaces to spend time together. The house is so comfortably and personally appointed that it felt like we were in our own home and not a rental. We had several cooks in our group and kitchen was fantastic. We all fit and all the equipment was there to make anything we wanted. The herb garden was charming and delicious. Even though the weather was a bit chilly during our stay we did have a few swimmers in the gorgeous pool. It was hard to resist. The staff was so helpful as we planned our trip and when we were at the Villa. They were very responsive to any questions and kind about our terrible language skills! The location is perfect for us. We could spend many days exploring Lucca but also enjoyed the smaller town of Barga and some further away places such as Cinque Terre and Siena. It was always a treat to come home to Villa Fronzola at the end of the day. I am missing my cappuccino in the hot tub as I write-

We celebrated our 60th birthdays at Villa Lavanda with six other couples. It is difficult to describe the experience at the Villa. The location is breathtaking, private, with magnificent views of the area. The Villa it’s self was more than we could have imagined, even after seeing the pictures on line we were amazed. It is full of beautiful pieces of art, extensive book collection and interesting pieces everywhere you look. It also has a lovely lived in feel with the Cohen’s personal touches everywhere. The bedrooms are fantastic and lovely sitting rooms adjacent to each bedroom makes for private space even though there were 14 of us in the Villa. It’s hard to put into words how to describe the Villa, but “Perfect” comes to mind. The staff make the home feel as if it were your own, helpful, unobtrusive and wonderfully friendly. Alessia was wonderful and so helpful with booking restaurants and taxi’s for us. Nothing seemed too difficult and was always on call for us. We had dinner in the Villa three nights and all three nights were fantastic. Pizzas to die for one night, a beautiful meal by Simon and Lisa one night and our final Birthday meal by Paola and her staff. The best thing was seeing the food being prepared and then served to us in 5 star fashion and then at the end of the night all the dishes were done and the kitchen was spotless and even left overs in the fridge. Fantastic nights. The walks from the Villa were beautiful and varied. The village of Bagni de Lucca is within walking distance, although the walk back was strenuous, it is a lovely walk. The Villa is situated close enough to Lucca that a trip by train from Fornoli was an easy day out. We also did Cinque Terra in a day and Siena or Pisa are easy trips. We had morning yoga sessions around the pool area overlooking the mountains. Lovely breakfast each morning with all of us easy being able to do our own thing in the kitchen without it seeming too crowded. The experience we take from staying in your beautiful home is something we will never forget, a special place for a special time, lots of love laughter and fun was had. I just spent a week at your beautiful home in Tuscany with Robin and Tony and what an amazing experience. The initial drive finding your home was an adventure but what a treat to be dropped into paradise for a week with great wine, olive oil, honey, and to my great surprise, a world class art collection! As Alessia was touring us through the entire home my jaw was on the floor—each room so beautifully curated. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your home with us. It was truly a magical week that naturally went by too fast.

The villa is so much more than one would expect from a rental - it is a home, lovingly appointed and with exquisite taste. It includes everything one could want, and more. Alex and Ellen, our own culinarians, were so impressed with the kitchen, the pizza oven, and the gardens that provided many fruits, vegetables and herbs, we thought they would never leave to come back to the states. Others will praise the villa and its environs, and we would concur. Our greatest praise, however, will be of Alyssia and Simonella, who were more than helpful. Alyssia readily assisted us with a late arrival in the rain, and always responded to our questions. Simonella not only kept us neat and organized, she was a delight to have around, a lovely woman. We cannot think of anything that was not perfect! Thank you Jonathan and Ellie for providing such a classy environment!

There were nine of us altogether. Everyone had a fabulous time! The pool is absolutely beautiful. The Villa amazing. A little off the beaten track but I deal for a getaway. We had drivers for dinner two of the nights. Then we had the chef and pizza two other nights. It was a wonderful time!

This is our second time staying at villa Lavanda (Fronzola) The first time with 14 friends this time with family. It is such a magical place where you can be with everyone or there are places to just get away alone. Jonathan goes out of his way to accommodate your needs. We've rented a number of villas in Italy, the UK and ireland. This one stands out as best among them. I'd recommend staying here for any group of eight or more. You can get a special rat for just eight even though it will accomodate fourteen easily. it's just a really great place.

THIS WAS A FABULOUS PLACE TO GO AS A GROUP. I HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE AND IT WAS JUST AS WONDERFUL. LOTS OF SPACE TO ENJOY AS A GROUP OR SPACE TO BE ALONE. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL SETTING FOR A GET-AWAY. ALL THE EMINITIES YOU COULD ASK FOR.

Villa Lavanda is simply incredible. My husband and I searched online for a Tuscan villa to host our very small wedding and accommodate 12 people comfortably for the week. After looking at what seemed like hundreds of villa's, we finally found Villa Lavanda and knew it was the place we wanted. Jonathan was extremely helpful in answering all our questions throughout the planning process and thanks to his help, everything went perfectly. Alessia, the manager, greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around the villa. We grew more and more excited as we went from room to room. One friend even teared up because she was so excited she was going to get to stay for an entire week and enjoy the home and surroundings. The views of the countryside are as stunning as the photos show, but what we didn't realize was how impeccably the house would be decorated with fantastic artwork and furniture. So many people were commenting on certain art pieces they saw in their bedroom, in one of the bathrooms, etc. After we got over our initial happiness of how happy we were that we chose this property for our stay, we settled in and grew even happier with how comfortably our party of 12 fit there. There was no shortage of spaces (indoors and outdoors) to get away and relax if anyone wanted some private alone time. The house was also fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking and we loved spending evenings cooking together as a group. The garden was in full bloom while we were there and we were told to pick anything we wanted. Most of our meals consisted of what we found in the garden and the fresh picked tomatoes were amazing. Alessia mentioned the option to have someone come and make pizza's for us in the outdoor pizza oven so we booked this for our second night there. I highly recommend doing this as the pizza was delicious, the experience was fun and he was willing to accommodate all of our eating restrictions, including some needing no dairy and/or no gluten. The only complaint I have about our stay at Villa Lavanda is that it was too good. :) We had planned to do several day trips, but not all of them happened as we were content to just stay at the villa and enjoy the pool and surroundings. It's truly a magical place and our stay there was a dream. I can't thank Jonathan and Ellie enough for allowing others to stay and enjoy their beautiful home. We are already talking about our next visit there and can't wait to make it happen.
